When funds are low and debts are high and the news blurts out such images of…the failing economy, uncertainty, divorce, brokenness, depression, anxiety… This is the sign of the times. People from all walks of life are searching for something and hoping to find some sense of commonality. From every social level people are broken in one way or another. In times like this it just may be the Universe’s way of bringing humanity back together. So what better time than Valentine’s Day? Despite the circumstances whirling around us like a tornado we stand there in the midst of it all asking the question…where do I find a place of peace? Because when we get down to the basics, we aren’t that much different at all, are we? Let’s get to the heart…since we do await this holiday that Cupid designed for all of us hopeless romantics. But this year, it may be a bit different. I believe this year Valentine’s Day just could be the one day, one hour or one minute where we get back to the way we were created…to love. Here are the 10 things you can do to pull away from the chaos and celebrate…yourself, each other, spirituality and so many other beautiful things we don’t even see each day because we are so distracted away from the true beauty of life.
- Music-what would this world be without music? Today, take the time to feed your soul with your favorite melody. Listen to your favorite CD or, if you’re the creative type look at the moon and write a song.
- Food- can be so comforting in a time of discomfort. Indulge in your favorite dish. Learn a new recipe for your lover or your loved ones...play with it, enjoy and don’t forget to savor the aroma.
- Nature… wherever you may be in this world, the universe has an abundance of natural beauty at your fingertips...if you live by beach bury your feet in the sand and gaze at the Sun as it sets along the horizon ,stand on a mountain peak and look to the stars and appreciate all ofGod’s gifts.
- Fitness… when we truly love ourselves, we love and appreciate our body…today treat your body right. Go for a long walk …take a yoga class or just breathe deeply and let the breath of life invigorate your body and soul.
- Creativity… every one of us has been given some sort of creativity…even if you aren’t the artsy type, dig deeper. Create something for someone or yourself. Find your passion and let it blossom.
- Love-true love is what we all are after…but even if you have no significant other on this special day, experience the love for yourself. Remember there is no one on this earth created just like you…so today celebrate you.
- Sensuality… is one of the key components to a beautiful Valentine's Day so if you have a lover, caress him and massage him or take a bubble bath together, and if not, put your best dress on and take a walk in a field full of wild flowers.
- Relaxation-is essential in keeping your mind, body, and spirit balanced…so, whatever it is that relaxes you, go for it.
- Spirituality -always love and appreciate the Maker of Heaven and Earth…sing praise, pray, and listen… for that quiet voice from your higher power. Let your soul soar.
- Gratitude -is the first step to a blessed and bountiful life. So today…really be thankful for the fact that you are alive and appreciate all the beauty around you and believe me there is an abundance of it...you just have to stop for a moment and look for it.

Humanity's Radical Corruption – Limited Atonement
By: Ralph E. Bass, Jr. | 07/01/2010The Bible teaches that man has experienced a cataclysmic moral fall in Adam. This fall has corrupted man at every part of his being. For this reason, this doctrine has often been called Total Depravity. However, this term is subject to a misunderstanding. It has frequently been thought that by this term Reformed theologians mean and teach that man is as corrupt as he can be, or that he is utterly depraved.
Presbyterian Church Government
By: Ralph E. Bass, Jr. | 07/01/2010When denominations were forming in the 16th century, denominations often took their names from the type of church government they adopted. The names Presbyterian, Episcopal and Congregational reflect this. The reason this was done was simply because in general all denominations subscribed to the same theology, Reformed, their differences were found only in their church government.

In Bible versus Quran: Rahab the prostitute in the Genealogy of the Lord Jesus?
By: Prof.dr. Ibrahim Khalil | 06/01/2010In the Bible, the genealogy of the Lord Jesus from Abraham to Joseph who married Saint Mary is composed of 42 (or 55) generations. In such family tree, you find Rahab the prostitute. On the other hand, the genealogy of the Lord Jesus in the Quran is only three words: "Jesus the Son of Mary".
Presbyterian History
By: Ralph E. Bass, Jr. | 06/01/2010The greatest early intellect and champion of Biblical theology was Aurelius Augustine (354-430) bishop of Hippo in North Africa. Augustine battled and bested the heretic Pelagius – a British monk who denied the depravity of man and the great doctrines of grace. Pelagius taught that the human will is free to do good or evil, and that divine grace only facilitates what the will can do of itself.
Hold On Just A Little While Longer
By: Joshua J Reed | 06/01/2010The Bible says that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Many of you are running on empty when it comes to faith. You are almost at the point where you have given up hope for what is to come and have very little to hope for. The reason for this is because life has let you down. You feel as though troubles have surrounded you and set up camp. In fact, you can not even see past the problems you are facing.
