Means To Understand The Christian Faith

Posted: Aug 10, 2011 |Comments: 0 |

You will find that there are no shortages of religions in the world right now. Some of these have been around for thousands of years and have made an impact on billions of people, whether they chose to believe in these particular religions teachings or not. One of the primary examples of one of these old religions that is still very much alive today would be the Christian faith.

Now, there is rather a lot to explain about this particular religion to be able to fully understand it. Due to space and time constraints, you will have to settle for the brief synopsis detailing some of the most important aspects of this religion and what has influenced so many people over the last several thousand years.

The first thing that any one of these followers will tell you, would be that they serve a "Risen Savior". This savior that they are speaking of is Jesus Christ, who lived a mere 33 years on the Earth over two thousand years ago. While he might have only lived for a meager amount of time, he made a worldwide impact in this time.

During this meager time in the world, he was able to perform miracles and instruct people on the structure of their faith, who God is, and how people are to treat one another. He was born of a virgin, so that he would not be corrupted by the sins of the world passed through generations derived from Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden when sin first entered the world. He remained sinless his entire life.

It was through living this sinless life that he was able to become the perfect sacrifice to save the world that was willing to believe in him and the salvation that his sacrifice could provide. He was crucified on his cross and bore the sin of the world in his death there. He descended into hell bringing the sins of the world with him.

Three days later, Christ would rise from the dead, as the Bible describes. This was symbolic of a new life that all Christians could experience if they were to believe in and follow Christ completely. He ascended into Heaven with the promise that he would return, via the Rapture, to collect the believers and take them into glory.

Whether you believe this or not, millions and millions of people do. So many religions have been derived from this source and twisted and changed around to fit specific agendas and approaches to their beliefs. No matter what you believe, this is a synopsis of the Christian faith.

The paper on marriage written by Alan Wisdom titled, "Is Marriage Worth Defending," has been on my own interest-screen since January, 2011. This likeable and readable paper of some note and considerable interest on the subject of traditional marriage, with a section on Gay Marriage, was originally produced in 2009 by Institute on Religion and Democracy as one of its Mt. Nebo papers. The Institute, a conservative think-tank, produces a few papers and offers thoughts, press releases, and tal

I am an atheist for the same reason I am an Azeusist (someone who does not believe in Zeus) because there is no proof for the existence of Gods...not one, not any. Besides, if there be such a thing as a God, he must have known (since it is said that God knows all) I would be an atheist ahead of the time of my birth; and if that be the case, what right do people of faith have to question their Gods judgment anyway?

"I believe that the Bible gives us a general view of God's will: those qualities of righteousness, justice, freedom, and peace to which God calls us and which we are to pursue. But the Bible does not usually lay out detailed policy prescriptions for how we are to pursue those goals in modern societies. In an imperfect world where our knowledge is limited and everyone's motives are mixed, we have to make political judgments about how best to achieve the measure of justice, freedom, and peace...

Nigeria, as a nation, is a paradox. This paradoxical nature endures because of our lack of knowledge of the spiritual perspective of nationhood. Africa must understand that the closely guarded national secrets of nations, in the 21st century and beyond, would be spiritual secrets and not dangerous weapons.
