Practical Ways To Improve Your Memory For Bible Memorization

Posted: Aug 10, 2011 |Comments: 0 |

Our brain and capacity to remember things is something we should never take for granted. For starters, life itself is all about keeping memories. What keeps us going day after day are the memories of everything that is good that has happened to us yesterday, and the hope of more blessings coming our way tomorrow. Who we are as of this moment, the person we've become, is a direct result of all our memories and experiences.

No doubt your capacity to remember stuff has the ability to make you a better person, if used right.

But what about remembering verses from the Holy Scriptures? Let me tell you, that is absolutely one good way to spend that extra energy when you come home at night. But it should be noted also that Bible verse memorization can be overwhelming for some people. It even sounds impossible, but not quite. It is very possible to remember the brother Bible verses if you could train yourself to have a better than average memory.

Do you wish to train your mind to retain brother Bible verses better? Here are a few techniques on how to do that:

1.      Try and convince yourself that you have a good memory and that you can enhance on it

Fact is the first step to enhance your memory and ability to remember is to try and convince yourself that you have a healthy mind yet there is still room for improvement. A lot of people do the opposite and convince themselves that they are not good at all at remembering names and numbers and other important stuff. But what can that kind of attitude do for your cause? Nothing. Nada. Instead tell yourself, "The Creator blessed me with a healthy mind, and it is my responsibility to do what I can with it."

2.      Eat right and eat well

Certain minerals and vitamins from certain foods help us retain our good memory. Doctors and neurologists agree it is crucial  to feed your brain with supplements and vitamins such as Thamine, Vitamin E, Niacin, and Vitamin B-6 to keep it healthy and in top shape.

A healthy memory is crucial if you want to be able to learn the Holy Scriptures. Follow these techniques and you will definitely feel the difference in a few day's time. If you can tell yourself to undertake memorizing the Holy scriptures, then following these techniques should be as easy as pie.

The followers of Christ should be reading the Holy Scriptures. It is not a concrete rule, mind you, nor do you have to read the Holy Scriptures in its entirety. But it must go without saying that as a follower of Christ, as a believer of the Savior and his sacrifices for us, Christians should at the very least care enough to read from time to time the Bible verses especially on their free time.
