The Parable of the Good Samaritan
Jesus told a story of how a certain man was attacked by robbers who beat him up and left him for dead. As he lay on the road unconscious, a priest passed by and had one look at him then went his way, passing on the other side of the road. A few minutes later, a Levi passed by and did exactly what the priest did and went his way too. As time went by, a Samaritan came by and noticed the badly beaten up man. He was deeply moved and was compassionate. He took him, washed up his wounds with oil and wine then dressed them up.
He later took him, carried him on his donkey for he was half dead and took him to an inn where he instructed the owner to take care of him till he was better. He left some money for him and told him that if he used more than he had left, he would pay him when he passed by the next time. Considering that the Samaritans were viewed as ungodly people by the Jews, this was an unlikely act by the person. One would have expected the people who seem to have a walk with God be on the forefront in helping the poor man. Luke11:25-37.
As Christians today, our walk with God is being put to test. Do we just give him lip service yet our hearts are far away from him. If we really have a relationship with Jesus Christ, this can be seen in how we relate to those around us. You do not need to go telling everyone that you are a born again believer, your actions will speak louder for you.
