The Prayer That Changes a Life
Could it be true? A prayer that changes a life.
Let's say that you are looking at your current situation in life and you desire change. A big change, a little change, I don't know, but either way change. How does this change come about? Could the answer be in prayer?
"If you want to step into God's greater purpose for your life - no matter how unpromising your circumstances might be right now- and you want to seize God's extravagant best for you with all your heart and mind and will, then you're just a prayer away." I really like what Bruce Wilkinson continues to say. "Personal change begins for each of us when we cry out to God for What God wants for us with open hands and expectant hearts."
We must be reminded sometimes that Prayer is simply asking, and asking is the beginning of receiving. Asking is the prelude to a lifestyle of miracles. As James records "you have not because you ask not." You see the reality is this sometimes we just stop asking. Why? For various reasons too many to mention. The key is get back to asking without restraint.
Is there a prayer that can change your life? Yes the one that has you asking God to change your life. Imagine this for a moment. You're kneeling or standing before God your Father. There is something you need. You can not make it. You can not buy it. Only your Father can bestow it upon you with His divine heavenly blessing. What does He say? ASK! "Ask and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened." Mt. 7:7-8
Our heavenly Father longs to bless us. I was reminded of this personally. While I was reading in my devotions Exodus. I came to Exodus 34 and was reminded of Gods nature. He told Moses after the tablets were written the second time ( important fact ). The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth.." I was reminded that God, His very nature is to bless us.
Do you today want to walk in His favor? Do you want God to have His fingerprints and handiwork all over your life? If so, with boldness, ASK! ask to be blessed. It is a life changing realization; the blessed life can be mine, but I have to ask. Why? God wants me to want His greater blessings. He wants me to take the initiative and ask for them, If I don't I'll miss out. If I ask I will not only be blessed beyond measure, I'm reminded it is not me and my doing. It is my God who is so good to me. I'm blessed because He is a blessing God. He is merciful, He is gracious, He is longsuffering, He is abundant in goodness.
Your current situation may not look, feel or be so great right now. Do you have to stay there? Is this where you end? No, this is where you begin. Remember Jabez , his name means sorrowful. Can you imagine being marked for life as sorrowful? Did he stay that way? No. God called him honorable. Why? Because through prayer God changed his life.
Is there a prayer that changes a life? Yes, the prayer that will ask God Himself to do what only He can do. Bless me, Bless me indeed. So take the initiative and begin to really ask for, His Favor, Success, A life where God's handiwork is clearly visible. A life where you can only say. It is the Lord.. I'm blessed of the Lord.
I can see you smiling right now... Blessed, Blessed of the Lord.
