THE TRUTH SET ME FREE AFTER 18 YEARS

I used to have a very rewarding job. Until, I resigned because I disagreed with the decision of the Management with regards to an issue. It was a mistake because, my father and my spiritual adviser (our late Senior Pastor), advised me not to resign. My principle was right, but, will I care more, if the management care less about the issue?

The greatest test in my life started in 2000. My loving grandma died two days after the effectivity of my resignation. My ex-husband and I had no work. My cash was running out. After ten years of being together, our marriage was at stake, because my ex-husband can’t handle the financial pressure anymore. He then left us, to be with another woman.

Let God be glorified in my life. Without Him, I don’t think I’ll be able to face the hardships of being a single parent to my daughters, who were then 8 and 6 years old. Good that I had a work already in our church. It was really hard to work and take care of my kids alone. I had to set aside my different emotions toward my husband. I had to show my kids and family that I was alright, because I don’t want them to be sad . I cried in my room, when everybody was sleeping already. I poured out my heartaches to God. I told Him to heal me and remove the anger in my heart. It was really hard to forgive my ex-husband because he had been unfaithful several times. But, I have to forgive because that is what God wants.

For seven years, I was praying that he’ll come back to us. But on the eight year, I requested God to teach me to forget him, if he’s not coming back anymore. Then, the Holy Spirit prompted me to request for an Advisory On Marriages at the National Statistics Office. The result was, he also married the other woman, three years after he left us. I said, this is too much already. Finally, I decided  to file an annulment. This is actually a Bigamy Case, and he can be jailed. But as a Born Again Christian, I want him to move on with his new family. Being also the father of our two children, I don’t want to see him jailed. My in-laws will be hurt, too. With the annulment, we can be free already.

I thank God for making it easy for me to forgive my ex-husband. Time will really heal our broken heart, if we are willing. I guess, that’s also the advantage of being a Born Again Christian. God will take care of your problems. Now, I’m ready to face the other woman and their two children. As of this writing, I pray that my two children will learn to forgive fully their Daddy, and meet his new family. In God’s time, and as they mature, I believe it will happen.

Since my separation eight years ago, I learned to read books and watch Christian channels about Marriage and Family. In fairness to my ex-husband, of course, I had shortcomings, too. I said, when he’ll come back to us, I’m ready to be a good wife. But, with the turn around of events, I have to apply it to my new “ Heaven Sent Man “. Whoever he is, I pray that he’s coming soon. I trust God to take charge of my lovelife this time.

I know that what happened with my marriage, was a consequence of my wrong decision. From the very start, it wasn’t a blessed one . I disobeyed my parents. But most of all, I disobeyed the Word of God and got equally yoked with an unbeliever. We had so many expectations from each other, but with less preparations. We thought that our love for each other would be enough. I can’t count the number of times he left me, then accepted him, everytime he came back. . Until, I made a decision to let him go already. God knows how much I loved him for eighteen years. I thought, I can change him. But only God can, if my ex-husband was only willing.

One day, I said. “ God, maybe the years I’ve suffered are already enough to pay for my wrong decision. Please make me happy and prosper again “.  I believe, He will grant my heart’s desire to be married again, after my annulment. I believe that good things are ahead of me.

My two beautiful daughters are now 15 and 13 years old. I thank God for helping me bring them up as good Christians. They are my inspirations. I thank God for His promise that, “HE WILL NEVER LEAVE US NOR FORSAKE US “. With God in our life, there will always be a NEW BEGINNING. He will give us the BEST IN EVERYTHING, if we’ll only follow His will.
