The Twelve Apostles And What The Scriptures Say About It
Our Savior, the Son of God, he had the twelve apostles. These twelve apostles were Simon, James, Andrew, John, Bartholomew, Philip, Thomas, James the Younger, Thaddaeus, Matthew, Judas Iscariot, Simon the Zealot and Matthias. Jesus personally picked these average people to help him promulgate the word of the good Father to the people.
You should take note of the word "average". The twelve apostles, despite popular belief, they were nothing special. In fact they are your common, "average" people. You would not be able to see them in a crowd even if you tried. This very simple detail is crucial because it says so much about spreading the Creator's teachings as well as being a true and faithful Christian and modern-time apostle.
The twelve apostles in the dreams Bible verses were a group of somewhat average and ordinary men both young and old. There was a fishermen, tax collector, etc. How do you get more ordinary than that?
But the Savior picked them to stand as his twelve apostles not because of what they do, but because the Savior saw potential in them to do great things for the Father. The Scriptures verse, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me," (Philippians 4:13) was written as a product of their stories. They were ordinary and average, but they believed in the Savior, that they are capable of great things if they followed and believed in the Father.
"And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;" Luke 6:13
When the apostles were ready, the Savior gave them the power to cleanse tainted spirits and different kinds of sicknesses, and then sent them to nearby villages and towns to talk about the Savior and the Creator's kingdom in heaven. Most theologians and dreams Bible verses students agree that the apostles travelled not by themselves but in pairs, but this was not made clear in the Scriptures. The twelve apostles fulfilled their mission, and their goals turned out to be a big success.
"And when he had called unto [him] his twelve disciples, he gave them power [against] unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease." Matthew 10:1, King James Bible Translation
You can be an executive for a huge company or a simple fisherman, these things do not matter in the life of an apostle. What's important is you have accepted the Savior in your life, and that whatever you do from here on out is for the love and glory of the Father.
