There is so much turmoil and uncertainty in the world today!

It should come as no surprise that there is so much turmoil and uncertainty in the world today.  Jesus said in John 16:33 that we would have tribulation in our lives, but He also declared that we should be of good cheer because He had overcome tribulation; yet many Christians seem to be unable to do that. Many Christians are facing tough situations right now and they don't see any solution.... they don't see how they can possibly enter into God's rest; they can't seem to have any hope.  But all is not lost; there is a promise in Romans 15:4 to offer those who are in a hopeless situation some hope, because it is through the comfort of the scriptures that hope comes.

It's important for us to know God's ways of doing and being if we want to have victory in our lives. God said in Hebrews 3:10 that He was grieved with the children of Israel because they were always erring in their hearts; and they did not known His ways;" because of that... God said, "They shall not enter into my rest." In other words, they would not see victory... they would not experience the Promised Land.

The key to Israel's inability to have the victory that God wanted them to have can be found in Hebrews 3:12, "Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God."

I believe most Christians would say "pastor I don't have an evil heart of unbelief... I believe in God... Jesus Christ is Lord in my life."  Many Christians lack the understanding that it's not just about making Heaven; successful Christianity for this life depends upon the certainty of believing that nothing is impossible with God. Many Christians fail to recognize that "anything that is not of faith is sin."

Those who set in the pews may very well be Christian, but they can be as the children of God mentioned in Hebrews who were... "always erring in their hearts; and they did not know His ways."

How important it is for all of us to comprehend that God's Word contains His ways on how to be successful and live a victorious life in this nasty here and now; how important for us to understand the principles God demands we make use of if He is to show Himself strong in our lives.

Jesus said in John 14:23... "if a man loves me, he'll keep my words."  God's word exhibits His ways of doing and being in the earth so that His children can be victorious Christians. The book of Proverbs says it like this: "These words are life to those that find them...."

God never said we wouldn't have trouble in our lives, but we need to have settled in our hearts that God promised in Psalms 91:15 when we were in trouble… He would hear us, and He would deliver us.

Begin today to be encouraged by God's Word.  Begin today to ask God to speak to you through His word. Yes, we live in challenging times, but we have a God who is bigger than any challenge and He wants to see you through your challenges and bring you out victoriously; choose to believe that!
