Why are Christians still unhappy even after they have been saved?

Most of the time Christians remain unhappy even after receiving Christ Jesus and having the gift of salvation from eternal damnation and fires of hell. Now, why is this the case? I have seen many Christians who are unhappy. How can true Christians be unhappy? Those who are unhappy do not understand the meaning of being a Christian. Why do I make such a statement? It's obvious isn't it. If anyone possesses the love of the Almighty God of the universe how can he be unhappy? If God is with you and for you, as the bible states no one can be against you, since no one can be against you, you become the conqueror and not the conquered, because your enemies becomes the enemies of God.

Imagine having a very powerful person on the earth as your very good friend and anything you need you just have to pick up the phone dial the number speak to that person and he will give you what you need, wouldn't that be great. But I am talking about a being which is many times more powerful and resourceful who can even bend a king to bow to his wishes who is your friend and help. I am talking about someone who is not subjected to any circumstances and can help you whenever and wherever you are, who have everything in the world at his command to help you. So, with someone like that as a personal friend, how can we as Christians be unhappy? Therefore, when Christians are unhappy after they have received the truth, the only conclusion is that they do not have any relationship with this omnipotent being at all. They either don't know how to call him or have never spoken to him before. I can only conclude that they believe in a God whom they don't know and they have never experienced the help from this God whom they have never seen. The Almighty God is an abstract concept and not a real daily friend.

That is why Christians can still remain unhappy. I say these are not real Christians, Christianity means to be in Christ, where the spirit of God lives in the person and not outside the person. This Truth that we have a God who will help us whenever we called upon him should make us very proud and confident, yet most of them don't know or behave as if God is their father. This truth should have set them free, yet free from what? Free from the bondages of fear that there is no one on earth who can help us when we need help. If God is your help, we don't need human friends at all technically. Trust in a God who can deliver us from trouble and experiencing one is not the same. Believing you have this protection and experiencing this protecting is never the same, because the faith level will increase when we see the tangible effect of this protection.

God can not be a concept in your mind, he has to be as real as the water you drink and as real as the blood you will shed when you bleed. That must be the reality of God in your life. Submitting to the will of God is the truth that will set you free from your suffering. Sufferings come from not willing to accept that God is in control of everything in your life and if he allows you to experience the pain of a lost or the pain of a crisis or an inconvenience in life but you don't agree with it, than this can be a case of unhappiness in your life. But since God is our Father, we as Christians should believe that he has our best interest at heart all the time and every moment in life is that best moment as it can be since he ordained that day. That is why David said, the day can not happen unless God has ordained it.

Similarly, if you can understand that God is with you every moment in time, you shall be set free to enjoy and savor that moment because it was wonderfully made for you to experience the love of God in your life. And if you quiet yourself, you will also begin to hear the warning signals which will direct you to peace and comfort. As God has to be part of your life before it can become complete, so he will show himself in small subtle ways that he is there with you. The day which you lived in was made with God's interjection of his mercy before you can fully appreciate his love for you. Otherwise, things happen and you become unhappy as your normal perceived day becomes disturbed. I suggest that you take special interest when your normal routine is disturbed and welcome that event since God has come into it to change it. Didn't the bible says, man proposes and God disposes. Man can plan yet God is the one who changes our plans and direct our ways.

I have had many diversions when I became a Christian and I began to welcome his intrusion because I know that he has the best in mind for me. So I began to see his wonderful plan and humorous ways to bring me to meet someone and to get me to see things which I will normally not see if my routine would be perfectly planned by myself. Then I realize the wonders of God to direct my path, that is why I love the Lord's prayer, not my will but yours be done. Yeah, a simple 10 minutes delay brought me to meet an old friend in the business of my schedule which I would never have met if my routine was made perfect by my own timing and plans. Yet God cared enough to delay me for 10 minutes so I can meet his long old timer friend of mine. Isn't God good?

At this moment in time, you have to understand a simple truth. This truth is this, that God loves you enough to maintain your ancestor for at least 6000 years in order for you to exist on this earth at this precise moment in time. If anything should have happened to them you would never be here today. Now how much care must God exercise to do that for you and for so long a time? Incredible isn't it? So he has already had you in his mind when he build the world didn't he, else you wouldn't be reading my article today. And that is the Truth which should set you free from any fear and worries, because he loves you. So take a moment now and say a word of prayer and thank him for this gift of life maintained all these thousands of years. So now do you think, he loves you, well of course, else why would he have planned this, and for so long a time to bring you to manifestation. You are real aren't you?

Now if we have this Almighty God and we lived unhappily what is wrong with us? Did God not love you? Did he not give you want you need? Or maybe you just feel that whatever you have is not sufficient and you wanted more, better and wealthier life. The question in your mind now is how can I get what I want? The answer is, stop being someone you are not and be yourself. Unless you know who you are or what is your life's mission, you will never be satisfied because you are not living to the fullest of your potential. If you don't even know yourself, how can you be satisfied with what you have now. And worst still, you also don't know who this God is in your life, now that is a double whammy indeed.

Happiness is finding yourself first and then knowing God is with you always through the good times and the bad times as defined by human understanding. In God there is no good time or bad time, it's his plan for all of us, a day of his wrath and mercy so that we may know we are not alone and there are things which are beyond our control, which is his Sovereign Will. If your mental software is not correct, all the time you will live an unhappy life since the conditions and the ingredient of your choices are always against what you need. We as humans don't know that most of the time, our own thoughts and decision process sabotage our own joy. We want something, yet we do not do the things which will result in us getting the things which we need. Then we blame the entire world for not understanding our need. Didn't Jesus said, "Ask and you shall be given, Seek and you shall find and knock the door shall be opened". So you need to do 3 things, first you need to Ask, then you need to Seek, and third you need to knock.

Example of Asking, I want to be free from my debts. I need to seek how to increase my finance and income while I reduce my spending and then I need to pay off my debts and I also need to know it takes time to do all these. Seeking requires us to discover a way to do certain things. After I seek, then I need to keep knocking the door for this doorway to be opened to me, so I keep knocking on different doors until I get one which will open to me, then I need to check and confirm if this is the right door, and this require wisdom and asking God for a confirmation or a direction since God is a Shepherd and a Shepherd will lead the Sheep. And don't forget you are that Sheep. So isn't the bible a simple tool when applied it produces great wisdom, but many don't believe or even acknowledge these powerful words that have the creative force to life.

The bible actually shows you the way of the Almighty God and his dominion on the earth that whosoever believes it and is willing to follow it will have great success in life. Rebellious ways will not get you the result as things are certainly not done the way you think it is right, it's the way which has been set and not the way in your mind. What you think is irrelevant as compared to what is the reality of life. These are the forces and principalities which can not be broken since it's a powerful force that will come against you if you walk in opposition. The world was here long before us, and it's gotten that way because many people have affected it positively or negatively and we suffer because of the evil that remains on the system which men have created. Sins are real and injustice real and we are the makers of our own destruction and unrighteousness.

Most Christians are unhappy because after coming to God, they still try to live their life by their own strength and this is like having a Ferrari sports car but not knowing where the key to that car is and then trying to go from one place to another by foot. Isn't that a foolish thing? But sadly most Christians don't know the power of having a loving father who can do anything for them only if they knew him. God is more powerful than the most powerful President of any nation; he is the King of Kings. How can anyone claim to be a son or a daughter of God yet don't know how to call on him and ask for help? Even if they do call on him, they still don't know if he said yes or no and that is still a one sided conversation. They don't know how to listen to God for instructions so they still don't know if God will do for them the things which they asked. This is misery at best, your suffering comes from not knowing God.
