Women And What The Scriptures Say About Them

Posted: Aug 11, 2011 |Comments: 0 |

There are still quite a few that countries view women as second-rate citizens. The women in these countries receive less rights. They are also entitled to less education, less training. Less everything They are seen as burdens in the household, except for the time when a man agrees to marry the woman to carry his kids and continue his family name.

Sometimes this is similar to the times described in the beauty Bible verses. In the Holy Scriptures, many of the crucial events revolved and were centered around men. But the Creator sees everything differently. Even when the situations described in the Holy Scriptures were carried out mostly by men, the Creator declared right from the start that He created all things equal regardless of skin color, race and gender. The exact Holy Scripture verse was, "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." (Genesis 1:27).

The beauty Bible verses is a testament that the Creator loves women as much as He loves men.

Women also played important roles during the events of the Holy Scriptures. It is just that they were left behind the shadows by the greater number of men. Two women listed in the Old Testament in the popular hall of faith – chapter seven of Hebrews: Rahab and Sarah.

Sarah was barren when she was promised by the Creator that He would bless her husband Abraham and her with their own son. As promised, she became pregnant and nine months later gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Isaac, who the Creator foretold was going to be the seed of a great nation. All this took place when Sarah was ninety years old.

On the other hand, Rahab worked as a prostitute. Her profession wasn't very honorable, but doesn't the Creator forgive those who strayed from their virtuous and came back with repentance and humility? She was the woman who pleaded for safety with Joshua's spies in Jericho.

Other important women in the Holy Scriptures include:

"Greet Tryphena and Tryphosa, those women who work hard in the Lord. Greet my dear friend Persis, another woman who has worked very hard in the Lord." Romans 16:12

If the Savior and his twelve apostles treated women as equals, then we should no doubt treat women as equals as well. To follow in the Savior's footsteps is definitely the best way to spread Christianity.
