HID lights have revolutionized the world of automotive's headlight system, HID lights has replaced most of the original halogen headlight for car and trucks, as it brings superior lighting, wider vision, longer lifetime and lower power consumptions. High-intensity discharge (HID) lamps are a type of electrical lamps which produce light by means of an electric arc between tungsten electrodes housed inside a translucent or transparent fused quartz or fused alumina tube.

Halogen lights have been around for a long time and will probably still be around for the years to come. However, people are beginning to realize the edge of installing an HID kit. The yellowish beams produced by the conventional halogen bulb does not compare to the bright white light of the HID bulb. HID bulbs also consume less power than halogen lamps.
Compare the life span of your old halogen lamp to that of an HID bulb. You’ll be amazed to find out that while your halogen lamp has a limited lifetime, a top-of the-line HID bulb will last the lifetime of your car. Before you trade in your old headlights, check out your options. Hundreds of manufacturers and distributors have popped up due to the incredible demand for the product, thus, you’ll have to do some window-shopping or site hopping.
And the price for a full kit of HID lights, it's getting cheaper and cheaper, it's around USD 109 shipped, and most vendor offer 1 year warranty for your kits. So it's not a bad idea to upgrade your halogen bulbs to HID bulbs.
