Porthole windows were made to improve rear-quarter visibility. It had a 312-cubic inch V-8 packing 215 horsepower with optional stick-overdrive or 225 with self-shift Fordomatic.

This car may have been inspired by European sports cars, but this one ended up as an all-American convertible designed for comfortable, smooth, powerful, and straight line performance. They were uncommonly handsome, thus, they were instant classics. This is also one of the reasons why so many of these cars still roam the the boulevards of Beverly Hills.
