The Ford Thunderbird is an automobile made by Ford in th United States from 1955 through 2005. Through its thirteen generations it also had a lot of various body types. The first car was shown at the Detroit Auto Show on February 20,1954. Its first production car came out on September 9, 1954 and went on sale on October 22, 1954. 3,500 orders were placed in the first ten days of sale. The 1955 car model had a V8 engine and was a smaller two-seat "personal luxury car."
The 1956 Thunderbird had more trunk space, exhausts were moved to the ends of the bumper, spare wheels were mounted outside, and air vents were added to improve cabin ventilation. Porthole windows were made to improve rear-quarter visibility. It had a 312-cubic inch V-8 packing 215 horsepower with optional stick-overdrive or 225 with self-shift Fordomatic.
This car may have been inspired by European sports cars, but this one ended up as an all-American convertible designed for comfortable, smooth, powerful, and straight line performance. They were uncommonly handsome, thus, they were instant classics. This is also one of the reasons why so many of these cars still roam the the boulevards of Beverly Hills. This is also the reason why so many who come to Las Vegas look for the the Ford Thunderbird to rent it.
