Uhhh .. Hubcap Decor?

"What are Hubcaps? Aren't they called Wheel Covers? Now people are using them for decoration? What?" Don't worry, I'm going to try to answer all of these questions so you can be teaching your friends about all this stuff.

OEM Hubcaps, like the Camry Wheel Covers , are manufactured to cover the middle part of the car the rim on your vehicle. Factory Original Hub Caps are mainly used for artistic and attractive reasons; so to make your car look more attractive and to make it seem as if you have Alloy Wheels on the car.

Purpose : Like I said before, it's to cover the center part of your wheel and provide some protection for when it rains, when there's a lot of wind, and conditions like these. This is to help prevent rusting and tarnish of lugs and studs.

Effects : OE Wheel Covers are supposed to make your car more aerodynamic; therefore, you'll get an increase in fuel efficiency - but just a small one. Whatever helps, helps .. right? Especially with the gas prices today.

Benefits : If your lug nuts for the wheels aren't tightened on like they should be, and if you're Factory Hub Caps are fitted on right, then the lug nuts will just fall into the cap and then make a "jingling" noise. This will let the driver know that as soon as he or she has the chance, they should stop and bolt the lugs on like they're supposed to be. If the lugs were ever to fall off without the driver knowing, this can eventually lead to the whole tire coming off the car .. so, how are you going to get around?

Possibilities : Since they're not something that's considered "essential", they can run pretty expensive if you buy them at a dealership. If you buy them from Hubcaps.com, you'll know that they're Factory and that they're sold at a great price.

Considerations : When there's Wheel Covers on the car, it will affect the resale value of the whole car. So if you ever decide on selling the car, just make sure that all four of the Hubcaps are on it because if not, you'll get less for the car .. even if the car is in great condition.

There are quite a few diners that have OEM Wheel Covers on the wall; I guess the people that work there think it makes it look "older" and more "authentic". We even have Hubcaps on the wall here ! Not just because we sell Hub Caps, but because they look nice on the wall .. and because since mostly guys work here, they probably didn't know how to decorate the place.

There are even some boys' rooms with Wheel Covers on the wall; if they're grease monkeys then you know that it's a for sure thing.
