Active clothing for an active lifestyle

A lot of people these days are into active and outdoor sports, compared to other more traditional sports like football and cricket sports like rock climbing and mountain biking are much more exciting and thrilling especially for the participant! Outdoor activities like these are much more rewarding both physically but also the kind of environments you’ll be doing these sports are usually picturesque mountains and country parks.

Of course there is an element of danger to many of these sports, some more than others but whatever sport you are taking part in it’s important that you wear the right clothing that is right for the activity you are embarking on. As well as important safety equipment such as crash helmets and harnesses you need to be wearing the right clothes for the activity and whilst it may seem obvious some clothing is needed where you wouldn’t think it would.

For instance, mountain biking, you may think that wearing a pair of unrestrictive shorts would be best, but whilst this is good for use on a sunny day if the weather sours and begins to rain then you could end up getting very wet and need a coat as well as something waterproof to cover your legs. There are many clothing stores that stock bike clothing as depending on the type of biking your doing and what conditions you are biking in it can determine what type of clothing you need to wear.

There are other sports that you’d need to consider what clothing to wear such as mountain climbing where you ideally if the weather is good want to wear light breathable clothing. Most climbers will wear shorts and a t shirt with many experienced and confident climbers sometimes only wearing shorts in warm weather. It is important for athletes at any level to wear proper safety equipment as accidents can happen at any time.

The culture of outdoor sports has often seen trends and causes such as fairtrade fashion coming into effect on what people wear when doing outdoor activities. There are many organic and fair trade sourced clothing that can be bought these days and a lot of it is perfectly suited for outdoor activities. Even winter clothing such as hooded sweatshirts and fleece jackets can be made from organic materials and natural dyes to get the desired look.

There are plenty of stores and outdoor suppliers out there online and on the high street making buying outdoor clothing simple.
