Lovers of black lingerie should be wise when choosing a black bra. Here is why.
Sometimes we read about researches of wish we might not know what our opinions are on them. Like this German study which shows that black bra may be dangerous for our health. The researchers say a black bra has too much dyestuff in the fibers.
The Germans tested 25 black bras from different well known European brands that are well known throughout the world.
All were tested on the dyes that were used to make the bra black. For some of these dyes there are strict rules and regulations in the EU on the amount that is permitted to be used. A manufacturer is not allowed to use more of the dye than is allowed and can be sewed for exceeding the amount. This because exceeding the permitted amount can cause cancer.
Eight bras did not pass the test. In six black bra models an amount of dye were found which could cause cancer. One of the black bras came from a discounter, who has now taken the bra off the market.
In five other black bras aniline was found. This is an oily poisonous amine obtained esp. by the reduction of nitrobenzene and used chiefly in organic synthesis (as of dyes). By regularly or intensely having bodily contact with aniline the skin can become over sensitive and could affect the blood.
The test shows that in general the more ‘expensive’ (42 euro and up) black bras passed the tests and do not contain dangerous dyes.
