In Great Britain a very popular department store charges an additional two pounds for bras from cup size D (UK size) and bigger. A lady who wear cup size E was fed up with this and declared war against the department store.
She made an account on Facebook which in no time had more than seventeen thousand members and bought some shares in the company so her voice would be heard during the shareholders meeting.
The argument she presented at the shareholders meeting was that women who suffered from obesity are not charged extra for their bras. Then why should other big busted women have to pay extra for their underwear and clothes?
The department store initially did not agree with her argument but could not measure up to the over seventeen thousand activists she gathered on Facebook.
Through front page advertisements the department store gave 25% discount on all bras and promised to reduce the prizes of the cup size D and bigger bras after the ad finished running. They also publicly apologized for increasing the prices.
Many stores and also huge department stores still sell all cup size bras D and up with an additional charge. Most online lingerie stores do the same as well.
