World’s Sexiest Men

Sports Illustrated Women's Swimsuit Issue selected the Sexiest Men in swim wears. We should accord these winners special importance as they were selected by a large number of women voters.
Apolo Anton Ohno, (Speed Skating): Ohno was overtaken by South Korea's Kim Dong-Sung in the 1,500-meter short-track speed skating event in Salt Lake City but managed to win the gold medal after Kim was disqualified. Ohno also took home a silver medal in the 1,000-meter event, scrambling to the finish line. Several thousand women admirers watched Ohno skate.
Tiki Barber, (Football): Tiki's a dynamic full back for the New York Giants. When questioned whether he is sexier than his twin brother and team mate, Ronde, Tiki Barber modestly said “"I'll have to give it to my brother” but added "He's vain enough to think he's the sexiest."
Landon Donovan, (Soccer): Playing forward for both the U.S. National soccer and the San Jose Earthquakes teams; Landon was named most valued player at last year's MLS All-Star Game. On whether he considers himself sexy, Landon said “I would say that in everyday life that I don't consider myself sexy, not extremely sexy, no. But I try. I do my best."
Jeremy Bloom, (Freestyle Skiing): At the 2002 Winter Olympics, Jeremy was placed ninth in the freestyle skiing moguls competition. Earlier, he was a 100-meter track and field Colorado state champion. He won both the 2002 national moguls crown and the moguls event at the World Cup. When asked, Jeremy said "Athletes are sexier than models, because there are great stories behind each of them."
Andy Roddick, (Tennis) Last year he became the youngest player to reach the U.S. Open's men's quarterfinals since Andre Agassi in 1988. Roddick also successfully defended his U.S. Clay Court Championship title against the tennis legend Pete Sampras in April.
Clint Mathis, (Soccer): Clint is playing forward for the New York/New Jersey MetroStars, and he is in the U.S. national team, for competing in World Cup 2002 this summer. When asked whether he considered himself sexy, he said: "Maybe my accent," Mathis says in his Georgia drawl. "I don't have the body that everyone else does, but I get the job done."
Macho men are certainly expected to look muscular and sexy in swim wears. But do women love somewhat effeminate men more than macho males? Scientists report that women lust for partners with more feminine features because they are unable to trust the strong muscular men.
In a recent poll conducted by intersites.co.uk for the one hundred sexiest men 2008, the following men occupied the first ten places:
Rank 1: Colin Firth is an English film, television and stage actor.
Rank 2: Jude Law is an English actor. He began acting with the National Youth Music Theatre in 1987, and he won awards for several of his roles.
Rank 3: David Tennant is a Scottish actor best known for portraying the tenth incarnation of the Doctor in the television series Doctor Who. He adopted the professional name 'Tennant' inspired by Neil Tennant, the lead singer of the Pet Shop Boys.
Rank 4: Brad Pitt is an American actor, film producer, and social activist.
Rank 5: Keanu Reeves is a Canadian actor. He is well known for playing Neo in the action film trilogy The Matrix and Ted in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure and Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey.
Rank 6: Chris Evans is an American actor best known for his roles in the films Fantastic Four (as the Human Torch), Cellular and Not Another Teen Movie.
Rank 7: Johnny Depp is a three-time Academy Award-nominated, Golden Globe Award-winning and Screen Actors Guild Award-winning American actor, best known for his frequent portrayals of offbeat and eccentric characters such as the titular character in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy.
Rank 8: Wentworth Miller is a Golden Globe-nominated American actor. Born in England, he is a critically acclaimed young actor with amazing performances both television and feature films.
Rank 9: David Beckham is an English professional football midfielder who currently plays for and captains Major League Soccer's Los Angeles Galaxy. He is also a member of the England national team. Beckham was captain of England from 15 November 2000 to 2 July 2006.
Rank 10: John Cusack is an American film actor and writer. He won the 1990 Most Promising Actor CFCA Award for ‘Say Anything’, the 1998 Favorite Supporting Actor Blockbuster Entertainment Award for Con Air and the 2000 Commitment to Chicago Award.
Listed on People magazine's annual survey, George Clooney was declared the sexiest man of 2006 and therefore a delight to watch in swimwear. He is winning this coveted title for the second consecutive year.
Strangely, the two-time winner, Brad Pitt is relegated to number 15. The other contenders of the People magazine's annual survey included actor Patrick Dempsey who was awarded the second slot, and Ashton Kutcher the third. Taye Diggs secured the fourth position ahead of Johnny Depp placed at number five.
The remaining five out the top ten in the list are TV actors Josh Duhamel at number six, Enrique Murciano at the 7th position, Leonardo DiCaprio on the eighth spot, followed by comedian John Krasinski at number nine and Jake Gyllenhaal at number 10.
