Are you servicing your body?

Posted: Feb 04, 2011 |Comments: 0 |

Many people realise and many believe that it is very common amongst humans that we take more care of our cars, than we do of our own bodies! We fill our cars consistently with the right fuel while our bodies do not necessarily enjoy the same care and consistent quality diet. We book our cars in for a routine service to make sure nothing is wrong and to keep them running reliably. We only attend to our bodies if we feel unwell.

When our car break down through wear and tear, we immediately replace the parts, pay the bill because we have to, and continue using it daily safe in the knowledge that we have attended to the routine maintenance. When our bodies need attention we are often too busy to do anything about it, hoping the problem will go away.

Cars, which are not regularly serviced, do not perform so well or last as long as they might. Your body if not kept in good condition, does not perform so well or last as long as it might either.

Personal Development is all part of servicing our bodies regularly. In particular, keeping our thoughts healthy, and a positive attitude and approach to life. You will succeed in this world and remain genuinely fulfilled, happy and content. If you neglect the maintenance of your car you will usually end up with unreliability. If you neglect your health and thinking you will usually end up being stressed, frustrated even ill.

Sometimes people have their own coach to keep their thinking and performance well up to scratch. Footballers serious about winning the world cup keep their mental attitude and winning strategies focused and maintained. People serious about being successful in business keep their thinking and performance maintained too.

How well are you performing today? People who keep their thinking serviced up to date so that their work, health and relationships all perform reliably, successfully and healthily. That is the way to ensure your journey through life is fun and enjoyable, not troublesome with breakdowns.

The other night I had a conversation with someone who is constantly tired because of work. The family life is not all they would like it to be. Even the youngest comes home from school regularly with punishments for misbehavior towards other kids. But it struck me as a prime example of how we can get so busy and caught up that even the evidence that things are not going well in the home, can go unnoticed

If you know someone whose lifestyle is in need of a "service" do them a favour and introduce them to Personal Development. You may help someone's performance improve, their sense of well being increase and put an end to some child's unhappiness at school now, all because you showed you cared enough to spread the word. Even introducing them to this article may be just what they might benefit from.

"Suffering is optional, but you have to provide it for yourself."

Dan Millman

Just like our cars, we can all benefit from a Personal Development.

Take the time to look after your performance, in business, health and relationships, you know you will enjoy your journey all the more.
