Dealing With Adrenaline

Dealing with the chemical reaction that occour in our bodies once we are under great stress can be very difficult. These reaction are intended to help us by releasing chemicals like adrenaline wich supply the body with a quick burst of energy, strength and improved alertness. This mechanism goes back to our cave years when we had to outrun a wild hog and the affects of adrenaline where of great value. the thing is now days people dont have much experience in dealing with such a powerful chemical reaction that occurs so rapidly and often times does more harm than good. Lets say your walking to your car after enjoying a night out suddenly, out of a shadow a man comes out with intentions of robbing you "BANG" your hit with your fight or flight chemical reaction and believe me its just that quick. How will you react will you use the energy that burning feeling inside you to make a calculated decision or will you succumb to the situation and collapse under pressure.
Adrenaline is not an everyday part of our bodies so naturally we are not accustomed to functioning properly while under the affects of this chemical. It has been stated that adrenaline makes it difficult to think clearly but incorrect the situation wich caused the release of adrenaline is the cause of the mental road block. When something or someone puts you in danger your body enters a state of shock wich momentarily freezes or paralyzes you. There after you are hit with a burst of adrenaline leading people to believe that adrenaline caused the mental freeze and lack of concentration when it was truly caused by the situation leading to the release of adrenaline. It is true though that if you are not accustomed to dealing with adrenaline the chemical itself can keep you in a state of shock for a longer period of time. So the real trick is to learn the functions of adrenaline and use them to our advantage.

How can I use adrenaline to my advantage in a moment of distress?
It is proven scientifically that adrenaline increases speed and strength this is precisely why it is released when we are in great danger. On average you will run 12-15% faster while under the affects of adrenaline the numbers are quite similar for strength. Like i had stated previously in our cave age we would have to outrun wild animals and use superior shows of strength to survive in other words adrenaline is a built in feature for intense situations. Thing is now days people are not that accustomed to adrenaline and therefore have forgotten the wonders it can have when we need it most. What better when we are faced with an attacker then the ability to run faster and be stronger instead of letting our bodies get caught up on the shock of the attack we must mentally train ourselves to automatically react tactfully. By doing this we put the attacker in his own state of shock because more often than not attackers are expecting the victim to fold and act just like a victim if you show him otherwise you more or less turn the tables. I know this is easier said than done but we can train ourselves more or less the same way "SWAT" teams train their officers. By nature alot of peoples reaction to danger is to run now this alot of times is the best and smartest things to do. The trick is to do it in a calculated manner dont just go blindly running into cars and tree branches (you know like in the movies). Look for the safest and fastest escape rout use your brain as well as your feet. Instead of just running towards any direction head towards lights, people, and busy intersection this will usually give you a better chance of escape. The trick is to use that increase in speed adrenaline provides to get to a safe area before your attacker because you wont be able to outrun the attacker forever. Of course there are times running wont be an option for example if you are accompanied by a family member or loved one you might have to stand your ground and defend both your lives.
