I love badges

One fashion accessory that has made the regeneration is the badge. Button badges, once worn by every student politico in the 80s and beloved by punks and mods alike, are back with a reprisal. In student politics these little statements have never really gone away, but it's now becoming cool to wear badges again whether they are political or not.

Badges have been in history for a longer period of time. Initially they had been used to give marketing to personnel rank in military and later were used in government offices to identify the rank of the officers. One Inch Button badges were first produced in USA towards the end of the ninetieth century as a low cost alternative to the medallions, pendants, and "badges" of the day that were expensive to make. Button Badges were invented by a New Jersey company called White Head and Hoag in 1896. Amongst a number of novelty items they produced was a button for holding up men's trousers.

Button badges are most common in the young age group. So it was lucky to have a word with the youngsters themselves. When asked why do u use badges? There was a vast multiplicity seen in their replies. The main reasons for the extreme liking for the badges were trendy look of the badges as a whole.

There is a high range or array in choosing a button badges. There are the badges supporting a cause or the ones for bands. Also there are promotional badges for example to promote a cartoon series or to promote a brand. At times there also badges which do not signify anything in particular but the just catch your attention. Though you find a variety in the patterns the cost that a person spends for buying the badge is negligible.
