When William Russell (W.R.), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them it was along a wagon trail in upstate New York. This makes Case one of the most collected brand of knives in the world.
To create one Case knife it takes about 125 pairs of hands. Artisans shape the handles from rare Brazilian cattle bone and Buffalo horn to more delicate substances like rosewood, mother-of-pearl, and stag. Four brothers, William Russell (W.R.), Jean, John and Andrew Case combined their skills to sell knives from the back of a wagon much like traveling tinkers.
