Attention Moms - Find Scholarship Opportunities For Mothers

A mother who is considering going back to college to further her education after years of raising her children may find it tough. In most cases, a mother may need financial assistance. Fortunately there are many scholarship opportunities that are available to make it easier for a mother to get back into college.

A number of non-profit foundations offer scholarship opportunities. For example, the Jeanette Rankin Women's Scholarship Fund offers scholarships for moms who are thirty-five years of age or older.

There are some major organizations that cater to mothers who are older. For example, a mother who is over the age of forty can qualify for a scholarship through the AARP. The AARP Foundation Women's Scholarship Program specifically offers scholarships and grants for women over forty. This is useful for mothers whose children are at college and she is now faced with a lot of time on her hands. She may decide to devote time to completing her college degree.

Even mothers who are breadwinners in their homes can get scholarships. The Soroptimist Women's Opportunity Award scholarship is offered to mothers by the Soroptimist foundation and is open to single mothers in Canada.

There are no age requirements for many scholarship opportunities. For example, the American Association of University Women will offer scholarships to mothers of all ages. This is perfect for mothers who want to return to college and get a degree regardless of how old they are.

Of course it always helps to know that many schools offer their own unique scholarship opportunities for mothers. So there are many Scholarships for moms going back to college if you take the time to search for them. The best thing for a mother to do is to check with a school of interest to her for more information on what she can apply for.
