Choosing a DC New Years Eve Career Path
This summer, I decided that it is time for me to choose my DC New Years Eve career path. In order to have a better job and make an income that my children and I can live off of, I must go to college and earn a degree. I have narrowed down my options to three.
I could go for just a one year certificate in accounting. The pros to that are that I am interested in almost every credit class that is required for the certificate. I am good at math, and I think I would really enjoy a job in accounting. Also, I could move up in the position I am in now at my current Professionals in the City job. The only downfalls to an accounting degree is that accounting is not one of the top in-demand jobs right now, and a certificate is not a degree.
Another career option I am considering is teaching. I have always enjoyed school; I used to play "school teacher" when I was younger. I love to learn, and I really feel great when I see the look in someone's eyes after I have taught them something new. Being a teacher would allow me to explore all different subjects of study DC New Years Eve. I would always be learning new things, and I could keep going to school to further my studies. I would work the hours that my children are in school, too. Some things that I would not like about being a teacher is that I would stay super busy and not have much time to myself, the starting pay is not that great for teachers, I dread several of the classes that are required for a teaching degree, and I lack patience to deal with children.
The third career option I have been thinking about for a long time is becoming a writer. I have always been good at and enjoyed writing. I am very creative and imaginative. I believe I could write great fiction books for all audiences. Writing is an unsure career in some ways, yet writers are always wanted for media jobs and such. It could lead to publishing and editing opportunities (I enjoy editing) as well as help me better myself and my skills in my current Professionals in the City job position. Plus, it could help me write a good book or two, and best seller list books can rake in hundreds of thousands of dollars, movie rights, etc. I am unsure, however, how a long-term writing career would work out.
In conclusion, I am interested in furthering my education, but I am not sure what I want to study. College can take anywhere from one to four to eight plus years, so I do not want to devote a lot of time to something that I will lose interest in or not be able to find a DC New Years Eve job doing.
