As this concept somewhat ties into the other strategies for your college student success, I found it necessary to make it a section of the G-Way Method on its own.

As stated before, preparation is the door which leads to college success. So it is important to grow after you know what is required in order to obtain what it is you're pursuing. In this case, you should know everything which is mandatory for your graduation beforehand. Don't wait for failing grades to begin taking your education seriously.

Get in the habit of becoming your own academic advisor, while still utilizing academic advising opportunities. A complete comprehension of your requirements not only results in self-satisfaction, but self-esteem as well. How? Through one simple little word called knowledge. Knowledge brings growth and confidence.

Wouldn't you feel confident if you knew all the classes you hade to take required for graduation, you knew exactly what each class required, and knew how and when you were going to pursue these courses beforehand?

Yes, I thought so.

Well here's a very important and overlooked secret in respects to college and success and confidence.

College student success cannot be achieved without confidence.

Confidence is built through knowledge.

Knowledge is simply knowing your stuff.

Knowing your stuff is an act of preparation.

So... by following what I believe they call the transition theory in Mathematics, one can conclude that:

Proper Preparation Is The Best Way To college student success.

"In the classroom, Ignorance is bronze,

Voice is Golden."

Being that under-promising and over-delivering is a virtue of mine, here are a few other college success strategies. As the previous quote states, silence is silver and voice is golden. What does this mean exactly? Well when you're in the classroom, especially a huge lecture hall, and you have a question to ask the professor, do you hesitate to ask that question? Do you feel the pressure of possibly 'asking a dumb question'? If so, then it's time that you start being a G.

Who cares what others think of your questions? You shouldn't. These questions are what's going to bring a better understanding of the materials and grant you a better grade. Don't let silence get in the way of your college success. No one is going to get you that degree other than yourself. So don't worry about what other student's perceive you to be. Your voice illustrates that you take your education seriously, so use it. Professors love students who are actively speaking with them in the classroom. It shows extreme interest and dedication to succeed in that course. Remember that professors are humans as well. So this can pay off if you need a couple of extra points at the end of the semester to bump up an extra grade.
Becoming best friends with your professor should be a top priority every semester. You never know when you will need a 'favor' to aid you in your college student success.

1. Go To Class On Time.

2. Don't Fall Behind - It's easier to keep up than it is to catch up.

3. Don't Cheat - Nothing gets learned when you do this.

4. Get to Know Professors - Indirectly opens various doors of future opportunities.

5. Have Fun When Studying - Many students stress over finals and lock themselves in their rooms for days only to fail their exams and become depressed. Know exactly what is required for these exams and work together with friends. Having fun with your studying will allow you to remember answers better. Try to joke around with friends while studying at the same time, and then have someone test you, and see if you don't remember the answers.

6. Learn Your Way - Not everyone learns or studies the same. Be real with yourself, and don't try to imitate your friend's habits.

7. Learn another language - The world is growing more connected by the day. Diversity is exploited through college and is somewhat of a necessity within business. When speaking with someone from another nationality, knowing even a small portion of their language is a sign of respect and builds an instant friendly trust with that person.

8. Take Safe Risks - Don't allow others to dictate your college adventures or life for that matter. Do what you want to do, take responsibility, and be prepared for any consequences or blessings which might occur as a result.

9. Critical Thinking - The best way to see something clearly is to look at it from every direction then pick your location.

10. Manage Time - Your greatest asset in life is time. Use it wisely.

11. Learn as Much as Possible - College and success can definitely be united and achieved with the right mentality and approach. I wish you the best of college student success, happiness, and prosperity.
