Chennai, Mar 02, 2011: Chrysalis 2011, The Annual cultural and management fest of LIBA (Loyola Institute of Business Administration) was successfully held at LIBA campus with Quizmaster Derek O' Brien hosting their signature annual Biz quiz- ExQuizite. From among 150 quiz freak participants from colleges and corporates across nation, Microsoft & TCS (team name: EureQa) emerged as the winner taking away the cash prize worth INR 50,000/-. Conceptualized to provide quizzing enthusiasts a platform to showcase their business acumen, fast thinking and industry knowledge, ExQuizite this year set the highest standards possible in the business quiz arena in the country.
Chrysalis is completely student driven right from getting sponsors, to designing the games, planning and execution. The integration of academic oriented events along with cultural events in Dance and Music is rare in the B school Fest circuit. Amplified (Western Music Contest) and Burn the Floor (Group Dance Competition), the most popular contests of Chrysalis in the cultural category which invites participation from the best of the best college teams in the city and neighboring states were won this year by Loyola College and New College respectively. This year's edition had event sponsored such as HeroHonda and Indian Overseas Bank. Other partners were Radiomirchi, Club Mahindra Holidays, Minglebox, Courtyard Marriott, Pepe Jeans, MBA Universe, Chennai Online, Twenty19, College Khabar and mycitychennai.com.
Exclusively conceptualized, designed and executed by LIBA students were the management programs such as Texas Hold 'em Poker and Board of Investors were unique to Chrysalis and were won by ITM Chennai and IFMR respectively. Speaking on ExQuizite, the ultimate highlight of Chrysalis 2011, Fr. Christie, Director, LIBA said, "Chrysalis is a good platform for students to compete with other students by participating in challenging management competitions. It provides participants across institutions and academic statutes an opportunity to mingle and share knowledge and have fun. "
Quizmaster Derek O' Brien does 11 shows a year and 4 in B-schools each at North/South/ East/ West locations. LIBA is the only B-school in south India to have Derek as the host.Also, for the first time, ExQuizite marked the beginning of the event promotion through social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube etc.
