Education is a priority in the Obama administration. They have created a government grant scholarship that is specifically designed to help moms go back to school! This program has not been widely publicized, but needs to be screamed from the roof tops! Moms are you listening? The government will pay for your education!
Times are tough, the economy is struggling and no one knows that as well as single mothers! Finding a job without an education, that will support you and your family, in today's economy is a challenge to say the very least! Even when the economy does turn around (and we all know it will eventually) finding a job without a college education will be just as difficult. Today there are so many people out of work that employers can be as picky as they want to be. No Bachelor's degree? Don't even bother applying. Tomorrow when the economy turns around, employers will want only the best of the best in order to keep things on track. No matter how you look at it, a college education is enormously important!
We all want a job we enjoy, that will not only sustain our families but raise our standard of living. President Obama made an important decision to increase the likely-hood of this happening for YOU! Obama increased the Federal Pell Grant (a grant is not a loan, and does not need to be paid back), for low income students. This simply means that now, instead of getting $4,050, the amount has been increased to $5,100 and may even increase over time! We have no excuse; continuing education is not only affordable but free!
In order to apply for the Federal Pell Grant, you need to decide on a college, choose a career path and then fill out a FAFSA form (your college can show you where and how) and submit it. It's that easy!
In order to make it even easier, the American Opportunity Tax Credit program allows you to use the first $4,000 as tax free money! Tax free, one more benefit, one more reason to go back to school!
Going back to school doesn't have to mean leaving your living room! You can now complete a college education on line! Could this get any easier? No traffic, no gas, no time away from home! Online education is included in the Federal Pell Grant!
