Student Grants and Loans for College

Posted: Aug 19, 2010 |Comments: 0 |

College is expensive.  The majority of students who leave college with a degree are in thousands of dollars in debt.  As college tuition increases year after year, the amount of funding and scholarships stay the same.

Thousands of students compete for one scholarship, making it difficult for student to receive financial aid.  Student grants and loans for college are available to many but only a few know about them all.  By taking time and researching these grants, students kind find several ways to help pay for their college.

When students think about college they usually think about zero parental control, and lots of partying.  They usually do not think about the rise in tuition and the little amount of funding they have.  Students need to pay more attention to their financial situation instead of focusing on sleeping and partying.

Student grants and loans for college are a great way for students to get through schooling without having to leave due to stressful financial situations.  Grants and loans are two very different things and need to be researched carefully before taking either.  Grants would be the first choice for students, because they wouldn't have to pay them back.

Students need to file for FAFSA and see if they can apply for any grants.  FAFSA is a huge financial aid from the government, but there is still a large portion of students that do not take advantage of it.  It does take a while to fill out, but in the end it can save you thousands of dollars.  Loans would be the next choice for students.

The great thing about student loans is that you do not have to pay them off for several years or until you graduate from college.  The trick with loans is that they can usually scam you with the interest rate.  It may be much higher than the average rate because banks know that students are desperate and will pay high interest for money right then.  Students should read through the agreement very carefully before signing a huge loan.  It might be nice not having to pay back money for a few years, but with a 25% interest rate, a few thousand dollars can easily become an overwhelming amount of debt.

Student grants and loans for college are a great way to help students get through college without worrying about money.  Students do need to remember that grants are a great financial aid tool, but you have to take advantage of the grants in order to receive them.  Also, loans are a great help but you need to read through them carefully before accepting the terms.

Unfortunately these expenses cost as much whether your group is 8 or 88 members strong. Small groups may feel like they are at a disadvantage when it comes to raising money, but there are quite a few fundraisers that can help groups with fewer members raise lots of money.

Cheerleading has been around college campuses since the very beginning. Since the 1880s, students have enjoyed cheering their team on in a unified manner. Cheerleading has moved from the male dominated megaphone days, to the exclusive female in the short skirt, to present day, co-ed team inspired activity. Of course the cheerleading program is filled with gravity-defying stunts, short skirts, and lots of school spirit.
