Dualcomm's patent pending 24/48-Port CableShare Fast Ethernet LAN Switch (DCES-2448) is the first product offering of its kind in the networking industry. DCES-2448 is a rack-mountable 24-port unmanaged fast Ethernet switching apparatus with 48 RJ45 jacks on the front panel. Each bottom RJ45 jack is wired to the top RJ45 jack in such a way that a single Cat5e cable can provide two Ethernet links. DCES-2448 can either be used as a regular 24-port unmanaged fast Ethernet switch or be configured to run two Ethernet connections over each Ethernet cable for cable sharing purpose, saving the cable cost and labor; this product also provides a unique and cost-effective solution for migrating your existing local area network to support VoIP telephony communications.
