A Buyer's Guide to Sarian Routers

Posted: Jan 11, 2011 |Comments: 0 |

Sarian routers are manufactured by Sarian Systems, which was a private router manufacturer based in the UK. The company was acquired by Digi International in 2008, which were based in Ilkley, West Yorkshire and many of their clients included Travelex, BP Oil and American Express. There are a variety of Sarian routers available for use in offices.

The Sarian HR4110 HSDPA 3G router will connect your office network or your laptop so the choice of a router by Sarian is going to depend upon your desired use. It connects using the Ethernet port and then connects to the phone network to allow Internet use. If you do not have 3G access, do not worry, the HR4110 has GPRS and EDGE options for connecting. The Sarian router provides up to 3.6Mbp of data access for users.

The 6000 Series may be the router you are seeking. This is the latest ADSL2/2+ and is probably what you want if you are looking for a router that supports broadband speeds that are the fastest. The ADSL2 performs superior to the ADSL and this includes the range and the rate at which data is transferred. This improvement doubles the broadband upload speed and has 4 times the download speed of standard broadband. This router has four Ethernet ports and depending on your requirements has 1, 2 or 6 serial ports. If this is part of the requirements for your office network, the Sarian router may be what you are looking for. Are you looking for a wired network for backup? If so, the 6000 also has the option of an ISDN or PSTN modem.

When shopping for Sarian routers, another choice you may want to consider, depending on your needs is the HR4110. This router has speeds up to 7.2Mb/s. It uses HSDPA technology, but has the option of HSUPA. Talk about versatility - this router will automatically look for GPRS, EDGE or 3G when HSPA networks are available. In addition, the mobile connections of this router at broadband speeds allow it to be used to back up your leased line connections and ADSL. Add the optional 12 channel GPS for your vehicle and this is quite a diverse router.

Still another Sarian router you may want to consider when shopping for the one that will take care of your business is the HR4420. This high-speed wireless router has four 10/100BaseT VLAN Switch ports and features two serial ports. The wireless modem is built in and provides HSDPA, EDGE, GPRS and 3G capabilities. Optional HSUPA capability is available, the advantage of which gives you wireless communication speed using a mobile network. Utilizing dual SIM technology, the Sarian allows another network to automatically kick in if the primary network should fail. One of the key features of this router is it can have a PSTN modem or an ISDN modem in the unit which can work as an inbound or outbound interface.

There you have a few of the Sarian routers that are available for use in business operations as well as personal. The choice is quite broad, so you can choose the Sarian router that you decide has the features you will need the most. When deciding if this is the type of router you will purchase, you have a choice of several so there should be one model that is precisely what you need.
