As if there weren't already enough reasons to have a reliable mobile broadband connection, recent advances and developments in the online industry look set to make the web even more invaluable.

People across the UK are already now used to having access to the internet wherever they go. It might be that they have a smartphone handy to tap into their messages and emails whenever they need to, but there are always going to be times when this simply isn't sufficient. If you need a more reliable connection and are, for example, commuting via train, a mobile broadband dongle will offer you a much better way to surf the web and get things done.

For some, travelling with a laptop and dongle will allow them to work during time which would otherwise be spent sat on the train twiddling their thumbs. For others, the mobile internet offers them a way to get online without relying on being in a coffee shop, bar or hotel that has a connection that is both consistent and cheap. If, however, you have your own pocketable dongle, you know that while you are out and about - you'll most likely be covered.

But if your concern is not business, but pleasure, you might also want to consider the various dongle deals out there. Smartphone services are unlikely offer a solid option any time soon for streaming video, so by carrying the web with you, you should be able to while away a few hours travel using the many internet-based services now available. In addition to the many varied streaming video options available like iPlayer, 4oD, Sky Player and more, search engine giant Google has also recently unveiled its plans to move into television. The firm has already launched Google TV in the US and it looks set to be in the UK pretty soon too.

Recently, Facebook announced its new Project Titan facility, which many have referred to as an 'email killer'. The social network's founder Mark Zuckerberg said the service will aggregate all of a users digital messaging, meaning text messages, Facebook messages, chat and email wil all be centralised on their account. He said that this "modern messaging system" will be the way people use his site in the future alongside the many ways in which they already do - sharing comments, pictures, videos and much more.

With all these services and more now at people's fingertips, having a decent internet connection while you are out and about could become even more essential, so why not check out the many mobile broadband options now available and stay connected.
