According to current gulf-news, those individuals who use mobiles are suffering from malware attacks which are significantly higher than before. These individuals are spending a great amount of time and money just to get rid of these problems. This is reported by McAfee and Informa Telecoms & Media survey.

Prevalence of Severity

Almost 95% of the mobile phones around the world comprise of SMS or text messaging features. Java Runtime Support is available in near about 1.2 billion mobile phones and related devices. Around half of the mobile subscribers depend on voice mail2 feature as well.

According to the security department of McAfee, the threat generated by the malware is ranging from a mere vandalism to complicate and increasingly devastating by nature. The department also declared that the severity of attack will possibly become double by the end of 2007.

Impact of malware

As per the historical evidence of malware development affirms that the area of highest impact always get affected by malicious forces. So it is quite anticipated that the mobile threats will be on rise especially in the smartphone market, from which it will rapidly distribute to other devices around the world.

According to the suggested security measure by McAfee, it is always mandatory to equip facilities like mobile payments or mobile localizations with a multitude of security measures, even prior to their launch in the market.

The security measures need to be implemented very carefully on the aspects of various easy-to-use and tension-free services which are developed and launched in the market in almost every single day. In these applications, the developers customize their offer in order to help the mobile users around the world. Their help primarily includes the mode of transformation of their business from voice and generating air time revenue models on the basis of the transactions taking place.

Apparent Solution
The solution is dependent on the location where the mobile operator is. For Asia-Pacific zone, SMS or MMS instructions need to be followed by users and this is the considerable disinfection method. On the other hand, in Middle East and Africa, the replacement of handset is the most acceptable disinfection method.
