Nokia 8800 is an impressive handset that has raised the level of Nokia's fashion phones even higher. True, like all other fashion phones, even this handset has design as its USP, but the device is also empowered with some good features as well. Nokia 8800 is a slider phone that is wrapped in stainless steel casing. This makes the phone look classy and also gives the handset a very robust feel. Consequentially the handset becomes heavier and measures 107 x 45 x 16.5 mm. On sliding the mobile, the Nokia 8800 reveals a good keypad in the front.
The keypad is responsive and is also user-friendly. While at the back, the Nokia 8800 has the camera. The camera is rather humble, it is only 0.5 MP. And for more entertainment, the gadget also features a Mp3/ AAC player. Like most of the slider phones, even the Nokia 8800 is dominated with a large screen. The screen's prowess is limited to 208 x 208 pixel resolution on a 1.65" display. But the screen comes with a scratch resistant covering. This means that no matter how much you try to spoil the screen with your naked fingers, there are no finger print marks on it.
Thus, ensuring that the beauty and durability is maintained. Menu is displayed clearly, and to access the menu one has to push at the centre of the 5-way navigation pad. The device comes with the benefit of Bluetooth and it is also the only way to connect to the outside world. This is due to the absence of Wi-Fi in the device. The phone though comes with a cabled headset. Other features for connectivity are GPRS, EDGE and GSM 900/1800/1900 Mhz, as well as voice connectivity. Nokia 8800 has 64 MB of internal memory, and has handsfree speaker, XHTML browser, polyphonic and MP3 ringtones.

Home Phone/ Caller ID problem
By: Mike | 01-09-2008
I have Verizon phone service in my house (using Panasonic phones) and I am having a problem. Whenever a friend would call my house from his home it would come up on the caller id as Out of Area and he tells me that he did press *82 (I have a private #). When he would call from his cell phone (Verizon) the same thing happens out of area. Is there something wrong with the service or the phone?
