For a brief period, an internet café had actual computers. A person could go and logon for a while, then pay a small fee on the way out the door. There probably wasn't anything more than a water cooler or a pot of old coffee sitting around by way of refreshments, or maybe some old cookies or snickers bars if one was lucky, but it didn't really matter. The idea was to be able to get online for a while, for those who didn't have a computer or the internet at home. Some people even just wanted to get onto high speed internet because their come connection was only available in dialup which ran far too slowly. While there, a person could use a copier, printer and a wide variety of other features like the telephone, and it was a general type of communications center, but today, that's all changing.

The internet café of today is notably missing one very important component to getting online: computers. Today's internet café assumes that everybody and their brothers have laptop computers that they are able to bring along. Now, there are full lines of gourmet coffees, snacks, sandwiches and more available for consumption as well as trendy and hip atmospheres and music to make the experience even more pleasant. The average person will end up spending twice as much to use the internet as in the internet cafes of old, and will not be able to print, copy or otherwise use other forms of computer technology because they are simply not available. While the practicality may have been taken out of the internet café, it sure got a whole lot cooler.

Now, even that concept rests on shaky ground. The culprit is the anywhere everywhere broadband internet technology behind 4G wireless. This new form of internet allows subscribers to turn the world into their own personal internet café, as the powerful WiMax towers set up around various urban areas provide reliable signals up to 30 miles away. That's quite a powerful Wi-Fi signal. A person could feel free to use the computer, and more importantly the internet, just about anywhere, from the city bus to the local library, from any old café to any old burger joint depending on one's taste. All of a sudden, the personal computer, or laptop, or net book, is catering to one's personal preferences once again.

Whereas in the past the internet café was utilitarian, today it's an excuse to get out of the house for a while. The more people do online, the more daunting it is to be locked inside all day plugging away at the internet. Instead of being wired down, break free of the cables and try an alternative like the 4th generation of mobile internet, and its fully mobile broadband. Feel free to stream music, movies and media, download at broadband speeds, and even send and receive large files on the go all with the power of a new kind of internet that is truly as on-the-go as you are!
