DSi Ware is getting some major support over in Japan. In fact, it's getting pretty much the biggest name in gaming over there: Dragon Quest.
Square Enix announced today a DSi Ware entry in the Dragon Quest series. Titled Dragon Quest Wars, the download-only title is a strategic board game in which players pit classic monsters from the series against one-another. The game will offer four player online play via Wi-Fi Connection.
If you're a fan of Nintendo's Fire Emblem series, you may want to take note of this. Dragon Quest Wars is being made by that series' developer, Intelligent Systems. Hopefully this means we can expect something as addictive.
DQ Wars hits Japan this June, priced at 500 DSi Points. Square Enix has yet to announce an overseas release.
To be released in June for 500 Nintendo Points, Dragon Quest Wars is a simple, two player board game using familiar Akira Toriyama-designed monsters as pieces. Square Enix promises an "easy to learn, difficult to master" game that will be playable via Wi-Fi with other DSi owners across Japan.
Interestingly, Dragon Quest Wars is being developed by the Nintendo-owned Intelligent Systems of Fire Emblem fame.
