This is definitely the way to go, but you do have to be very smart about the way you do it. It costs lots of farm money to plow land as well as to buy the seeds to plant on it. If you use up all your money plowing extra land, you will have none left for buying the seeds. If you can't plant crops, you won't be able to make more money.
That is why it is important to make sure you can make use of all your available land before you start clearing more. Do not get plow happy! If you plant on all of the plowed plots of land you already have first, you will have a much better idea of how many more you will be able to afford to clear and plant on this time around.
