Mafia II Sneak-peak

There are a lot of third person shooter games on the market these days, but there is something different about Mafia II. Maybe it's its atmosphere. When I'm in the game I feel like I'm watching an old film, some award wining classic, or maybe it's just me. The game has an exciting plot and you'll need a little time to get used to the game.

It's nearly like any other third person shooter, and in fact apart from the plot what else can you change when making a third person shooter. At times Mafia II can be quite hard. It's not that simple to survive out there. Some of the enemies are very powerful and will kill you easily.

As you play you will find out that the map where you play isn't that big. And still none of the locations will look too used. Perhaps it's because through the game the seasons change and every location changes. There is a lot of driving in the game. And this proves to be one of the most difficult parts of the game.

Not that it's hard to drive but it is one of the hardest things to get used to in the whole game. There aren't many quick vehicles in the game and it's pretty easy to destroy one so you will have to be much more careful with driving. If you aren't at first you will become one very careful driver. It's something interesting, something I haven't seen in another game, it's that if your car breaks down the character will get out of the vehicle and go work on the engine. There are garages which can improve the speed and handling of the car but all these upgrades prove to be too pricey. This again leads to much more careful driving.

The game features very good and interesting story line. You always feel very much involved in the story, you are drawn into this world and that's what the good third person games are all about. There is a lot going on around you and you will surely feel it. As you play you become more and more drawn in the game. The music in the game is also pretty good. It really represents the feelings and moods of the character. The nature in the game also looks very good. You can stop and communicate with the surrounding world. All these things make you feel like you're really living in this world.

Bottom line in the beginning Mafia II may look like any other third person shooter and in some areas it really is like all the others but as you continue to play the game just swallows you. The atmosphere it creates is like none other you feel drawn in it. It's like living in the game.
