Shooting games have been drawing everybody’s attention and nowadays, they are much popular than ever before. Such kind of genre not only adds thrill to the gaming but they also have many knock-on effects. Video games, being invented for fun, provided more than fun and with the help of latest and advanced technology, shooting games have redefined the gaming experience. Many of the parents might blame shooting games since they think that they do spoil their children and children learn nothing out of it. In fact, they lose their study and become irresponsible. A study by researchers at the University of Rochester revealed that people who play shooting cum action video game for a few hours a day over the course of one month showed improvement their functioning in eye examinations by about 20 per cent. "Action video game play changes the way our brains process visual information," as stated by Daphne Bavelier (professor, The Brain and Cognitive Sciences). He adds that such games might push the human sensory system to some higher limits and the brain gets adjusts to it and this learning then carry-forward into other activities and perhaps everyday life.

Psychiatrists also admit that such shooting games make mind alert and a player starts thinking in different ways. In other words, the capacity of the brain to have multidimensionality significantly increases. Let us look at one simple example; at one particular point, a main character of the action game comes and immediately gets shot and then dead. It happens once, twice or more than that but then, the player starts thinking about the loopholes. The brain starts thinking in a multidimensional way and tries to read between lines; where does a bullet come from? Who shoots and whence? He thinks twice before stepping further at that point and uses the crosswire or latest binocular and finds out that butthead and baaanggg!!! Finish!!!
