Star Trek Online Credits Guide - STO is a game of skill where the player progresses through the ranks. While doing so however, credits - the currency or money of the game, may be earned in a variety of ways, such as Strafleet Merit or Energy credits.

For starters, there are 3 forms of 'currency' in STO:

Once you complete 3 or so of those, you can receive your exploration credit. There are various levels of these badges. and can be traded in the NPC stores in SOL station for things that may not be necessarily available on the open market or exchange.

Energy Credits. These can be used universally to buy or trade new gear and ships with NPCs or other players. Generally most gear is on the Exchange and generally overpriced so you will need a LOT of credits.

Ways of Amassing Credits

- Find and sell rare/uncommon items

Many missions will give you a rare or uncommon item as a reward. Head over to the exchange and sell it (after checking to see what that item usually sells for of course). or consider making a run to the Starbase 24 or Laurentian system missions which pays handsomely to the top 3 damage dealers.

- Tribble farming

Its rather easy to create the little creatures! All you need is one regular tribble ($100) and some food that you can find on an NPC vendor in a space station (SOL, DS9 etc). The right combination will give you a fancy tribble, which you can then let multiply and re-sell.

- Buy low, sell high

If you have some extra time, this is a fantastic money maker. Most things on the exchange are priced FAR above what they should be. With the economy so skewed you have an excellent opportunity to take in a lot of extra cash. You need to do some research on this but it can be very rewarding for you.
