After you've dropped down your ground texture you'll put the rest of the stuff on it, such as patches of different texture, water, rivers, etc.   After doing that you'll want to add your cliffs and elevation.  This is where it gets really fun because you can make things extremely dynamic now (You used to be restircted quite a bit in the original Starcraft map editor.)

Adding Units, Resources, and Triggers

Once you have the map looking how you want it to you can add all of your units on the ground and drop the resources that you want to be able to be collceted there too.  WIth the units and resources down, the next step, if you're making a scenario, is to add triggers.

Triggers allow you to do a lot of things.  You can make a trigger so that units will spawn in one location and disappear in another, charge a specific place, or just move around.  You can create triggers to create defenses when players reach a certain area, and you can really customize it more than can be explained.
