Sony’s Playstation 3 is a multi-faceted home entertainment device. It is not only a game system but it has the capability of playing Blu-ray discs, can store downloaded music as well as videos and the display of digital photos. An Ethernet port and built in Wi-Fi make the connection to your home network easy. There’s even memory card and USB ports so you can transfer media files onto the console’s hard drive, or for connecting your mice and other peripheral devices to the game system. For game play, the Playstation 3 delivers all the bells and whistles one would expect from Sony and this line of game consoles. They’ve been fantastically successful over the years with the various releases of new generation Playstations. This third generation comes in three configurations; a 60GB, an 80GB and a 120GB. It is important to keep in mind that Sony has been phasing out the 60GB version for some time now. The console’s sound system is surround and has the ability to hook up to external receiver. Your games have never looked or sounded so good.
Overall, the Playstation 3 is a solid choice for your game play and Blu-Ray needs. It comes from industry leader Sony, has a cool design and application interface, and all games are in high definition. The console plays standard DVDs as well as Blu-Ray. It has built in Wi-Fi and a flash media reader. Online game play is free, the output is HDMI and it plays PS2 and PS1 games. This game system delivers all you want and more. It is an excellent stand alone game system, but when you factor in the PS3’s ability to play Blu-Ray and standard DVDs it becomes an affordable and fantastic home theatre console.
