The Challenges of Unblocked Games at School

One of the challenges that many teachers are facing in today's classrooms is trying to balance the use of computers and laptops for learning. While there are many advantages to having these tools in the classroom, there are a few side effects that can have a negative impact for both the student as well as his classmates.

Having computers in class affords teachers additional methods to pass on knowledge to the students. Some pupils have a better time learning when they are able to see visual images which a laptop can provide. While some children are using this technology to improve their hands-on skills and learning, other kids are using these instruments to try and access unblocked games at school.

If the policy of the teacher or the school is to allow kids to play computer games during free time such as lunch, recess or after school then this may not be a problem. But inevitably what ends up happening is that computer time then starts to bleed into regular class teaching which can cause many different types of problems. Instead of paying attention to the teacher students are trying to get high scores playing their favorite video games.

Some students are not permitted to play video games at home by their parents and thus take the chance to access blocked games at school to get their gaming fix. Another challenge is making sure the students don't stumble across a website which may contain information or images which is not age appropriate. This may be things such as pictures of gore, blood or violence.

For some kids, playing online games during school time is a way for them to escape from the real world. Instead of having social interaction with other classmates they instead bury their face in front of their computer screen. It also limits their exercise time if instead of going outside for recess if the weather is nice they wish to remain inside playing with their laptop.

If the school does not have the proper filters in place for keywords or the ability to block certain popular gaming websites, then there is a chance that kids may access dangerous sites that can lead to malware or viruses getting into the school's computer system. Be sure to talk to the students about the rules of playing games online and what the punishment is if they fail to follow them. If someone does break the rules be sure to follow up and make sure that the punishment is carried out.

There are many different issues with kids playing unblock games online and you want to make sure that other children are our dissuaded as much as possible from trying to access the sites when using school computers.
