There is a reason, not a big reason but it is a reason, that he likes to play solo and typically due to the hours that he plays, he has to play solo.
He really likes PvE before the expansion because depending on the spawn. He says he can always earn more than he spent and most of the time it was not a ridiculously grueling affair.
After the expansion he is typically earning a lot less than he has spent to kill mobs and he really is not interested in the skill gains. What he really wants to do is to gather certain materials and make gold to buy what he can not gather. This is pretty reasonable.

The first example is on Nahdruks. The outcasts drop just enough gold to break even on what he is spending in reagents to kill them. He is able to hit the heretics less harder than they hit him in melee, and they also drop a total of 20 reagents and 230g which comes nowhere close to the number of times he has to shoot them to kill one.
The second example is Earth Elementals. He wonders, they could be killed efficiently with a lightning sithra. They slowly lose their lives to magic and seem to hit too hard even with acid shield up. They drop nowhere near what it takes to kill them.
His playing style is solo. He wonders whether he should take this as a sign to show that this is no longer a game for me. There has been a week so far he struggled for to make a decent amount of bank so that he can make 4-5 ready bags and try to do some PvP which is the point of the game in his opinion.
