Farming in the World of Warcraft is a popular and effective way to earn gold. It's rather easy to do if you know the right spots to farm at. Unlike playing the auction house, farming does not require any special complicated strategies. You can just head to a zone that is full of mobs that are worth farming, and start killing. This WoW Farming Guide will cover 6 very popular farming locations.
The first location in this WoW Farming Guide is Azshara. You can start out in Azshara by farming the massive Timbermaws in the mid-North region. After you finish those guys off, head East until you find the Blood Elves. Blood Elves drop Runecloth, which you can sell in the auction house. You will also find Legashi Demons in this area, which may drop valuable uncommon (green), rare (blue), or even epic (violet) equipment. You can sell the equipment over the trade channel or also in the auction house.
The second location is Westfall. If you head to the Western shore you will come across the Defias Trappers outpost, which is a nice farming spot for both low and high level players. The mobs in this area have a good drop rate for linen cloth, which you can sell in stacks at the auction house for a nice profit.
The third location is Stratholme. Stratholme has changed a bit since the launch of Cataclysm. It is now two separate dungeons. You're going to want to be in a group of five if you farm this area, as this area is for more advanced players. You pick up a lot of drops that can be disenchanted. You can then sell the mats in the auction house.
The fourth area in this WoW Farming Guide is Stranglethorn Vale. There is a cave called the Crystalvein Mine. In the mine you will find Ironjaw Basilisks that drop vendor trash items (grey). You can sell these items to a vendor and make a profit. You can also skin them for thick and heavy leather, which you can sell in the auction house in stacks for a nice amount of gold.
The fifth area is Felwood. Felwood has a lot of skinnable mobs that drop vendor trash. Head North East from Bloodvenom Post until you find Angerclaw Mauler bears. You can easily kill the bears and skin them for thick leather. Once your bags are full sell off the vendor trash and put the leather in the auction house.
The last-place to farm is the Eastern Plague Lands. Head to the southwest corner where the Undercroft is. Here you will see Moss Flayer Zombies. These guys drop Runecloth as well as silver. You can also head to the southern part and kill Plague Bats. Plague Bats drop tons of vendor trash and are skinnable.
