A great number of software would have a message to prompt the users to restart their computers so that their newly installed software could be used normally. That’s a thing very tiresome for many people, because shut down the machine they need to end some very important and on hand used processes at the same time. In fact, most of such software only “make a small occurrence into a big deal”, because reboot the machine only for the purpose of updating the Registry.
In order to avoid the trouble of restart, here I will introduce a tweak to update the Registry quickly through some simple operations in the Task Manager.
Step 1 If there is a prompt that whether you would reboot the computer at once when you finish installing the new software, choose “No” and not to restart your computer.
Step 2 Right-click the Toolbar at the right bottom, and select Task Manager in the pop-up list to open the Task Manager Dialog box.
Step 3 Click Processes bar and choose the process named “explorer.exe”, and then click End Process button. At this time the display on the desktop would disappear, but don’t worry, follow the next step and the desktop will come back again.
Step 4 Select File on the left top of the Task Manager and click New Task (Run…), input “explorer.exe” in the box and press Enter key.
Finally your desktop is back within a short while, and most important the computer Registry has been updated and your new software also can work regularly.
