Airplay is a very renowned word which was earlier known as the Air tunes. An airplay allows the wireless media of audio, video and photos together. All this process is done by wireless connection between all of them. The air tune was originally released in the year 2004 and on the date of 7th June of it.
Basically Air-tunes mean listening to music from all over the house and even from our mobile phones. But when the name of Air-tune is changed into the Airplay then only it is understandable that now it's not music any more, it has now increased our vision and now we can stream all kinds of media anywhere in the house.
The name of Air-tune was changed in the year 2010. It was announced by Steve jobs, the C.E.O. of Apple Company in their IPod session on 1st September 2010. The company named as Apple has given the original license to the audio streaming process of the Airplay.
The devices which are implementing in the Airplay are basically of two types-
- The devices which send us the audio visual content of music.
- The devices which first received the content and further on transfer the same on the speakers.
The Air-play sending device includes I devices, I tunes, I pods, I pads. The Air-play receiving device which includes the Airport expresses having audio output with it and the Apple TV.
The Airplay wireless technology helps in the speaker docks. The Air-play speakers also have the capacity for graphical displays also. They can also help us in displaying the album name, the song title, name of artist etc.

It also enables its users to send the midis items to the Air-play speakers. Another implementation is that it also allows the default sound system which is used on most of the desktop to allow any audio application.
The Air-play receiving device makes the non –Apple software to receive the media items from the Air-play enabled devices. The Air-play allows the apple TV or the Air-play enabled computer with its own I tunes and the music players top transfer a stream of music to the multiple users. Multiple users mean three to six users at a same time and also in a typical condition.
