Antivirus: The Comic Touch

The world is flooded with tech savvy consumers but it’s not often that they grapple with the idea of cyber security. We keep on using our computers on a regular basis but their security is always under threat from the infection of viruses. Recently, the National Cyber Security month was observed in the United States and a software organization called Comodo undertook the initiative of mass education on this issue. It is quite fair to spread knowledge with a touch of humour and the representatives of the organization prepared the campaign plan with this particular outlook. The format of the antivirus campaign revolved around a video streaming which has been inspired from a popular television series. As per the background of the television series which involved inspiration of depressed individuals from their loved ones, the branding of the campaign also resembled the same kind of a theme. According to the officials of the organization, the plan was made with an overall humorous approach and to divert the minds of the consumers. It’s not very necessary to educate the minds of the customers with a serious and mundane video instead a little bit of comic wit tickles the funny bone. As installation of malware and antivirus software is a very grueling process, it is often seen as a hard task. Hence, this kind of an initiative can provide a new dimension to the way people think about it. As the firm remains committed to satisfy customers by resolving PC related problems, the overall campaign aims to involve more interest on the business agenda. The audio- visual medium helps to create an immediate impact on the minds of the audience and gradually it remains to be seen how the competitive market accepts this kind of an idea. An infected system is always a hazard for the users and this new approach should stand as an example for the rest of the market players to follow sooner rather than later.

By: Nestor Hayden | 28/11/2009

The reason for this is the narrowing gap between desktop and laptop computers in terms of performance, reliability and storage capacity. Now we have a stand-off between netbook and laptop computers as people explore the possibi...

Google Chrome OS to be Unveiled Soon

By: Sarah Jones | 20/11/2009 | Computers
New Operating system from Google named as Chrome launched. Don’t confuse the name with the browser. Impact still not known as competition intensifies. It will come with new features but too early to predict the success. Marketing strategy of the brand not entirely convincing. It will run from the top of a Linux Kernel.
