One of the most amazing and popular gaming systems of all time is the Xbox 360. However with all its technological advances and growing popularity it is not without its problems. Nothing is more aggravating than having Xbox 360 Glitches... at least for serious Xbox gamers.
Some of the Xbox 360 glitches are at the game level, in other words there is an actual problem with the specific game being played. For the most part these are small annoyances since there are so many games to choose from.
The most aggravating of Xbox 360 glitches has to do with a design flaw in the actual system itself, more specifically the console. The Xbox is a very powerful gaming computer in a very tight fitting console. The components inside build up tremendous heat and this can be a serious threat to the safety of your system. If your brick overheats it will shut down or lock up and you will get the feared Xbox Ring of Death. This is not a death sentence, but can become fatal if allowed to continue.
So how do you prevent this most feared of all Xbox 360 glitches? Ventilation is everything. Be sure to give your brick plenty of it. Keep it out in the open not in a cabinet. Place it on a hard surface and not on carpet. It is even a good idea to elevate it a couple of inches off the ground to allow for more air flow underneath. Be sure not to cover your console with anything either on purpose or accidentally. Many like to personalize their bricks with decals and stickers or even painting them. All these ad dons slow down the dissipation of heat and are not advisable. It is also important to turn the Xbox 360 off when not in use.
If you experience the RRoD don't panic. Unplug your brick and let it cool down for 20 - 30 minutes. It should be fine when you start it up. Be sure to check the ventilation and improve things if you can. Also be sure not to move your console while it is turned on. Always turn it off when making adjustments.
What if you can't get past your Xbox 360 glitches? Well not all is lost. The manufacture recognizes there shortcomings and have extended warranties from a year to three years to address the glitches! Your firs course of action is to call the manufacture at 1-800-4MY-XBOX and see if you are covered. If you are they will send you a shipping container and you can return your Xbox to them and get it fixed for free. As long as you have not tampered with your console by opening it (breaking the seal) you can get this coverage.
If you are out of warranty they will still fix it for you but it will cost around $150. Still better than purchasing a new one if you are on a tight budget. One thing to remember in this is that the manufacture reserves the right to fix your Xbox or replace it with a recondition or new one. This applies even if you are under warranty. This still remains to be your best option and should be exercised first, especially if you are under warranty.
What if you are not covered and you are not to keen on spending $150 or waiting 4 weeks for your brick to be returned? Well you can still get past your Xbox 360 glitches for a whole lot less money but it will require some basic electronic skills. There are several exceptional Xbox Fix guides that can be purchased for less than $30 and will walk you through, step by step, the simple procedures to permanently fix your Xbox 360. The repairs can be made in less than a day and require simple hardware that is readily available just about any place. Some have made the necessary repairs in less than an hour!
What ever your situation it is nice to know that you have several options to get past your Xbox 360 glitches and can have your favorite brick up and running for good!
