Internal aids are required to prevent them from overheating. Heat sinks use heat-attracting metal such as aluminum or copper to remove the heat from them. A cooling fan is also utilized with the heat sink to release the converted heat.
A water block can be used instead of a heat sink. The block is hollow inside, uses water instead of metal, and does not require a cooling fan. By pumping water through the hollow block, heat is absorbed by the water which is then cooled in a radiator. This method is much more effective to prevent overheating of these cards than a heat sink and cooling fan.
