When your business is the media, you'll find that there are a number of situations in which you can benefit from having a CD/DVD publisher for your company. This is true whether you are a community newspaper that has a distribution of 5000 copies or less or your media company focuses on providing photographs to other businesses: with a CD/DVD publisher, you will find that you are able to expand your target market, offer bonuses to subscribers and more.

For example, let's say that your company creates a music and entertainment paper that is distributed on a weekly basis. There may come a point in time when you don't just want to write about the local bands, you don't simply want to tell readers what an up and coming band that is playing in town next weekend sounds like, you want to be sure that they can hear it for themselves. At that point, you'll find that you have two options. First, you could just put a streaming sample online for them to listen to, or - if you have a CD/DVD publisher - you can burn discs that will give your readers a chance to just put a disc into the stereo and listen to it.

Similarly, if your company's involvement with the media is related to providing images of events or even political cartoons, having a CD/DVD publisher will give you a better way of distributing materials to them. With a CD/DVD publisher, you will be able to provide them with different samples of the photos from an event: some resized for print and others touched up. You'll also be able to include on the CD or DVD copies of signed releases from those individuals who were in the photo so that the papers know that they will not get in trouble for using the photo.

Of course, there are a number of other ways in which having a CD/DVD publisher can benefit your media company as well:

1. With a CD/DVD publisher, you can provide back issues of your publication without having to stockpile physical copies; just keep the files sorted an when a back issue is requested you will be able to publish and mail a disc;

2. With a CD/DVD publisher, you can be sure that you are able to distribute marketing materials for your advertisers. For example, say that in a technology publication you are writing a review of a new Point of Sale system; when your company has a CD/DVD publisher, you'll be able to distribute a limited trial version of that system.

While the above are common examples of the ways in which media companies can benefit from a CD/DVD publisher, you'll find that there are many other options as well. Ultimately, you'll discover that, with a CD/DVD publisher there are a number of ways in which you can enhance the way your business does business - you will also find that there are many different ways in which you can save money in the process.

AOL Problems
By: Kerry | 05-07-2008
I have a few AOL issues. How do I turn off the new AOL 9.1 sign on feature which brings me back to the the last site I visited before signing off/getting disconnected? AOL also tries to sign on before my wireless connection is established, and keeps trying to sign on, over and over. Each time I click on the X, it tries yet again. I can't readily find this topic in AOL Help. I did a search for Live Help, but got onto a bogus site, and now my computer is running slow. I'd appreciate help with these issues. Thanks!
