Burning your files on a Digital Video Disc (DVD) is very useful. You can do it for backing up files, such as videos, pictures, text files, and audio files. DVDs may also be used for creating several copies of files that are to be used for file sharing. You may create various types of DVDs. These can be data discs with text files, spread sheets, and other documents, as well as multimedia discs that may contain videos, pictures, and other multimedia files.

Things you need:

  • DVD burning software installed in a computer
  • A blank DVD
  • Files you want to burn on DVD

Recently manufactured computers are already installed with DVD burning software. Find and open the files you want to burn on a DVD. It is recommended to classify and separate the files that you want to copy and burn in a single folder for much easier navigation.

Launch the DVD software on the computer. Insert a blank DVD in the disc drive and close it.

Step 3:

Check the size of the files you want to burn if it fits the available space on your blank DVD.

Open the files to be burned. Click the “burn” button found on the DVD burning software interface. DVD burning may take time, especially if the files that are going to be burned have big size. Wait until the burning of the DVD is complete.

Step 5:

Remove the DVD from the disc drive and close the disc drive.

Step 6:

A computer running on Windows XP may also burn DVDs. To do it, you should click on the “Start” button. Choose or select the “All Programs” option from the menu. Click “Accessories” and choose the “Windows Explorer” option from the submenu.

Step 7:

Open the disc drive and insert a blank DVD.

Step 8:

Find the files that you want to burn on your blank DVD. Choose these files and while steadily left clicking on the files, drag them towards the DVD burning software icon on the “Windows Explorer”.
